Rose Zhu and Brandon Sutherland, from Joule, visited our lab today. They gave an IRCE2 Lecture named Energy Research & High Impact Publishing in Joule.
Dr. Rose Zhu(朱昌荣) is the Associate Editor for Joule based out of Shanghai office. She started her Ph.D. study at Nanyang Technological University (NTU, Singapore) under Prof. Hong Jin FAN in 2012 after received BSc degree in Sichuan University (China). She joined Prof. Shirley MENG’s group as a visiting scholar in 2015 at University of California, San Diego. Dr. Zhu worked as Research Fellow successively in NTU under Prof. FAN and National University of Singapore under Prof. John WANG from 2016 to 2017. She has published more than 10 first/co-first-author papers in in the field of Catalysis, Li, Na, Zn ion Batteries, Supercapacitors, to Advanced Materials, Nano Letters, Chemical Society Review, Nature Communications, Material Horizon, Nano Energy etc.
Brandon Sutherland is a scientific editor for Joule, a distinctive and forward-looking energy journal from Cell Press bridging scales and disciplines. After obtaining a BASc. in Nanotechnology Engineering from University of Waterloo in 2012, he pursued a PhD at the University of Toronto under the supervision of Professor Ted Sargent. There he studied optoelectronic devices made from solution-processed perovskite and quantum dot materials. He has authored 33 scientific publications, including reports in Nature, Nature Materials, and Nature Photonics. In May 2017, he was awarded the Governor General Gold Medal by the government of Canada in recognition of his contributions to the field of photonic devices. In March 2017, Brandon joined the Cell Press team as a scientific editor for Joule.
