Energy & Catalysis Adventure Team Awarded China Youth May Fourth Medal！
On Apr. 30, 2025, Energy & Catalysis Adventure Team was honored with the 2025 China Youth May Fourth Medal for Outstanding Youth Collective. As the highest national honor for youth collectives in China, this award recognizes our efforts in addressing major national challenges, advancing green technology innovation, and fostering young scientific talent.
Led by Prof. Jinlong Gong, our team is committed to supporting China’s "dual carbon" goals by developing cutting-edge green chemical technologies based on renewable energy. We focus on transforming traditional chemical processes to become more low-carbon, efficient, and sustainable. Our breakthroughs include the development of novel catalysts and processes for propylene production, which have helped resolve key bottlenecks in China’s petrochemical industry and offered transformative solutions for the sector. We also developed a highly integrated photoelectrochemical device—our “artificial leaf”—which achieves world-leading energy efficiency and opens new pathways for applying clean energy in chemical manufacturing.
Over the past decade, we have remained closely aligned with national priorities, translating research into industrial impact. With perseverance and a strong sense of mission, our young team has grown from the "faint glow" of laboratory exploration to the "blazing torch" of real-world innovation. As Prof.Gong says, "Young scientists must rise to the challenges of our time and find personal fulfillment through breakthroughs in core technologies."
Receiving this award is not only a great honor for our team—it is also an affirmation of the dedication and spirit of China’s new generation of scientific youth.
